Full-Time Office Manager (Benefits Eligible) - 1)A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and at least two (2) years of administrative work experience. Knowledge of general office procedures and computer systems required. Experience working with persons with disabilities, dedication to The Arc’s mission, and experience in human resources or fiscal departments, is preferred. OR 2)An Associate’s degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and at least four (4) years of administrative work experience. Knowledge of general office procedures and computer systems required. Experience working with persons with disabilities, dedication to The Arc’s mission, and experience in human resources or fiscal departments are preferred. 3)Must be 18 years of age or older. 4)Possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving history to enable ability to drive agency vehicles. 5)Demonstrate the ability to adhere to required schedule of the job. Be willing to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. 6)Demonstrate the ability to work independently and complete job responsibilities as assigned. 7)Demonstrate the ability to work successfully with a diverse group of human service professionals, community volunteers, government officials, Board of Directors and persons with a disability. 8)Demonstrate professionalism in dress, speech and mannerisms. 9)Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. 10)Obtain a criminal and/FBI criminal history check, as appropriate and remain eligible to participate in programs funded by Medicare/Medicaid.


University Required Full Time Internship (Partially Paid)-Summer/Fall 2015 - 1) Must be 18 years or older 2) Possess a high school diploma. Additional experience or training specific to the field of human services is preferred. 3) Posses a valid driver’s license or be willing to obtain if accepted into the Intern Program. 4) Hours needed to work will be discussed during the interview process, due to meeting the program needs. 5) Abide by all guidelines of The Arc and the sponsor college or university’s internship program. 6) Valid Driver's License, Act 33/34 Clearances, completed Motor Vehicle report, Physical/TB, etc.


Residential Program Worker: Part-Time - 1) Must be 18 years of age or older. 2) Possess a High School Diploma. Additional experience or training specific to working with persons with an intellectual disability is preferred. 3)Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to transport individuals. 4) Must be able to provide assistance, if needed, in safely loading and unloading vehicle passengers and assist individuals to safety in emergency situations. 5) Obtain a physical examination as required by The Arc Policy and/or DPW regulations. 6)Obtain Pennsylvania Criminal History Check, FBI Criminal History Check, and/or Child Abuse Clearances in accordance with The Arc Policy and/or DPW regulations. 7) Be able to utilize public transportation as needed in providing training and supervision to individuals. 8) Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. 9) Must be able to provide/attain transportation to and from work as scheduled and use personal vehicle to transport individuals in the performance of job duties. 10) Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, with individuals and co-workers. 12) Demonstrated ability to work independently and satisfactorily complete job responsibilities.


Sleep Aide: Part-Time - 1. Must be 18 years of age or older. 2. Must possess a High School diploma. 3. Must be able to physically assist individuals to safety in an emergency situation. 4. Must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate, both receptively and expressively, with individuals and co-workers. 5. Obtain a physical examination as required by DPW. 6. Obtain Pennsylvania criminal history check, FBI criminal history check, and Child Abuse clearances in accordance with DPW regulations. 7. Demonstrated ability to adhere to the required schedule for the job. 8. Must be able to provide/attain transportation to and from work as scheduled. 9. Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete job responsibilities


License Practical Nurse: Part-Time - Must mainatin a Licensed Practical Nurse, valid drivers license, must be 18 years of age, and Act 33/34 Clearances, and completed Motor Vehicle report.

  • The Arc of Centre County, Pa., Inc. is an advocacy and service provider organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
  • The Arc's mission/vision is to enhance the lives of all persons with an intellectual disability and their families, and to provide the highest quality of service in the least restrictive environment.  Each individual will fully participate in choosing and purchasing services.

The Arc of Centre County was a grassroots organization started in 1953 by a group of passionate and concerned parents. The chapter has grown to serve persons with I/DD across the lifespan and throughout the county. All of The Arc's efforts are geared towards ensuring the rights of persons with I/DD, supporting their families, and helping each person reach his or her personal best, through an array of community services. Services primarily offered by The Arc include Community Living Arrangements (Residential), Home and Community Habilitation (HCH) and Supportive Employment Services (NES).
