Residential Program Worker-Full Time - 1) Must be 18 years of age or older. 2) Possess a High School Diploma. Additional experience or training specific to the field of human services is preferred. 3) Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to transport individuals in The Arc vehicles. 4) Must be physically able to provide assistance, as needed, in safely loading and unloading vehicle passengers and physically assist individuals to safety in emergency situations. 5) Must be physically able to apply manual restraints and other safety techniques needed within the program. 7) Obtain a physical examination as required by DPW regulations. 8) Obtain Pennsylvania criminal history check, FBI criminal history check, and Child Abuse clearances in accordance with DPW regulations. 8) Must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. 9) Must be able to provide/attain transportation to and from work as scheduled. 10) Demonstrate ability to adhere to required schedule for the job. 11) Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate, both receptively and expressively, with individuals and co-workers. 12) Demonstrate ability to work independently and complete job responsibilities.


University Required Full Time Internship (Partially Paid) - 1) Must be 18 years or older 2) Possess a high school diploma. Additional experience or training specific to the field of human services is preferred. 3) Posses a valid driver’s license or be willing to obtain if accepted into the Intern Program. 4) Hours needed to work will be discussed during the interview process, due to meeting the program needs. 5) Abide by all guidelines of The Arc and the sponsor college or university’s internship program. 6) Valid Driver's License, Act 33/34 Clearances, completed Motor Vehicle report, Physical/TB, etc.


Residential Supervisor-Medical - 1. Successful completion of a Nurse Aide training program and skills completion certificate. Current registration as a Nurse Aide in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is required. 2. One year of experience as a Nurse Aide is required. Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities as well as previous supervisory experience is preferred. 3. Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete job responsibilities. 4. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, overnight periods and holidays. 5. Must be 18 years of age or older. 6. Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to transport individuals in The Arc vehicles. 7. Must be able to provide assistance, as needed, in safely loading and unloading vehicle passengers and assist individuals to safety in emergency situations. 8. Obtain a physical examination as required by DPW regulations. 9. Obtain Pennsylvania criminal history check, FBI criminal history check and child abuse clearances in accordance with DPW regulations. 10. Demonstrated ability to adhere to the required schedule for the job. 11. Be able to provide/obtain transportation to and from work as scheduled. 12. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both receptively and expressively, with individuals and co-workers. 13. Must be available during “off duty” hours, within reason, to handle emergencies. 14. Must participate in a rotating on-call beeper system for a variety of programs as assigned. 15. Demonstrated ability to use computer and familiarity with software currently utilized at work location.

Additional experience or training specific to working with persons with an intellectual disability is preferred. 3)Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to transport individuals. 4) Must be able to provide assistance, if needed, in safely loading and unloading vehicle passengers and assist individuals to safety in emergency situations. 5) Obtain a physical examination as required by The Arc Policy and/or DPW regulations. 6)Obtain Pennsylvania Criminal History Check, FBI Criminal History Check, and/or Child Abuse Clearances in accordance with The Arc Policy and/or DPW regulations. 7) Be able to utilize public transportation as needed in providing training and supervision to individuals. 8) Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. 9) Must be able to provide/attain transportation to and from work as scheduled and use personal vehicle to transport individuals in the performance of job duties. 10) Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, with individuals and co-workers. 12) Demonstrated ability to work independently and satisfactorily complete job responsibilities.


License Practical Nurse: Part-Time - Must mainatin a Licensed Practical Nurse, valid drivers license, must be 18 years of age, and Act 33/34 Clearances, and completed Motor Vehicle report.

The Arc of Centre County was a grassroots organization started in 1953 by a group of passionate and concerned parents. The chapter has grown to serve persons with I/DD across the lifespan and throughout the county. All of The Arc's efforts are geared towards ensuring the rights of persons with I/DD, supporting their families, and helping each person reach his or her personal best, through an array of community services. Services primarily offered by The Arc include Community Living Arrangements (Residential), Home and Community Habilitation (HCH) and Supportive Employment Services (NES).
