Home-Based Program Worker


Job Title: Home-Based Program Worker

Wage: Full-Time starting at $14.00 per hour!

Requirements: 1) Must be 18 years of age or older. 2) Possess a High School Diploma. Additional experience or training specific to working with persons with an intellectual disability is preferred. 3)Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to transport individuals. 4) Must be able to provide assistance, if needed, in safely loading and unloading vehicle passengers and assist individuals to safety in emergency situations. 5) Obtain a physical examination as required by The Arc Policy and/or DPW regulations. 6)Obtain Pennsylvania Criminal History Check, FBI Criminal History Check, and/or Child Abuse Clearances in accordance with The Arc Policy and/or DPW regulations. 7) Be able to utilize public transportation as needed in providing training and supervision to individuals. 8) Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. 9) Must be able to provide/attain transportation to and from work as scheduled and use personal vehicle to transport individuals in the performance of job duties. 10) Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, with individuals and co-workers. 12) Demonstrated ability to work independently and satisfactorily complete job responsibilities.

About This Job: Most shifts for these employees are during the week between the hours of 8a-6p… they have to work few to no weekends or holidays! (some exceptions apply) The Home Based Program Worker provides support, training, and supervision to individuals living in Home and Community Habilitation (unlicensed) settings such as their own home, or the home of a family member. Such services are also provided to individuals residing in long-term care settings such as nursing homes. Support and supervision may be needed in areas such as personal hygiene, socialization, budgeting, cooking, grocery shopping, and/or sensory stimulation. The overall goal of the Home Based Program Worker is to maximize independence and enhance the quality of life of persons receiving this service.
